“So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it someday for a crown”.
‘Khuris’ is the Konkani word for cross. The cross in Goa is a common sight to the wandering eye.
For Goans, especially the Catholic community, it is a symbol of faith, sacredness and protection.
